International collaboration

Innovations have long been a part of defence and accordingly are being increasingly promoted. Two international initiatives in the area of defence innovation are particularly worthy of mention.

On 2 June 2025, the go-ahead was given for the first Operational Experimentation campaign as part of the Hub for EU Defence Innovation of the European Defence Agency at EU level. Bern, 16.01.2026 — On 14 and 15 January 2026, the Federal Office for Defence Procurement armasuisse held a workshop on technologies for military deception together with the NATO Science and Technology Organisation (STO). More than 90 national and international experts from science, industry and defence discussed the current technological status as well as future challenges.
