Completed Expeditions
Here, you see which innovation expeditions have already been implemented.
Goal: A tablet-based ISSYS simulator developed in the DDPS innovation spaces contributes to the digitalisation and effectiveness of this training.
Goal: To strengthen the resilience and operational performance of pilots in order to sustainably enhance their cognitive and physical endurance.
Goal: Development of a portable and semi-automatic system for rapid, inexpensive identification of cracks and possible ruptures in protective plates of protective vests.
Current status: Based on the collected findings, a procurement project has now been initiated. It is the first innovation expedition that has now been transformed into a procurement.
Goal: Use of existing infrastructure as well as drastic reduction in interference by using a fibre optic-based time synchronisation technology (White Rabbit).
Current status: Various tests were carried out with different partners. Integration into the C2 network of the Armed Forces is currently being checked.
Goal: The serial numbers of weapons are currently being recorded manually by humans at the Armed Forces Logistics Organisation (AFLO). Technological solutions have been examined which could reliably replace the manual scanning and recording of serial numbers by humans through an automated procedure.
Current status: Evaluation of the test results is still in progress and a decision is pending.
Goal: Repurposing the outdated Rapier air defence system for training purposes of the Air Force. Currently, the obsolete air defence systems are being adapted to the specific needs of the Air Force.
Current status: The required components were successfully extracted from the decommissioning process. The system is expected to be available to the Air Force for training purposes starting in the second quarter of 2025.
